On the Edge
I first visited the Grand Canyon as a young child and remember being overwhelmed by such vast and overwhelming views. It was nearly 50 years later when I once again visited and the same overwhelming feelings returned.
As I sat on the south rim in complete silence I noticed a lone little tree on the edge just as the sun dropped below the horizon. The vivid colors from the sunlight slowly transformed into gentle pastel colors that washed through the canyon and presented a intimate view of a grand expanse.
