One of my all time favorite images, these rainbow eucalyptus trees are magical and magnificent. The horizontal branch is actually another tree which for some reason has grown this way. The colors are created as thin layers of bark peel away revealing fresh green areas underneath, which gradually turn a dark reddish brown. This particular group of trees greets those who drive the Road to Hana in Maui as they come around one of the 617 hairpin curves.
