Driving down I-15 south of Salt Lake as you approach the town of Mona, Utah is a small lavender farm. I’ve photographed it several times, and normally I am trying to get a sunset with all that beautiful lavender in the foreground. On this visit I noticed the solitary tree, with the large cloud and virga rain falling from the cloud and knew it would make a different and wonderful composition. I have several images from this location I like, but this is my favorite by far.
